LEDMAN 275-Inch 8K Mega Screen Arrives in Milan with China Central Television’s “China Red” Fleet

Ledman Optoelectronic’s custom-built 275-inch 8K Ultra-HD Micro LED mega screen has successfully arrived at the iconic San Siro Stadium, the venue for the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics opening ceremony. It was transported as part of China Central Television’s (CCTV) distinctive “China Red” broadcast fleet.

As an official partner invited by CCTV to co-develop the 8K multi-functional hall within the Milan International Broadcast Centre (IBC), this state-of-the-art 8K screen will serve as the centerpiece of the 8K showcase hall. It is tasked with delivering and broadcasting the Winter Games’ content in stunning ultra-high definition to a global audience throughout the event.

The 2026 Games have embraced “Harmony” as the theme for their opening ceremony, promoting a fusion of art, innovation, and the future, with sustainability established as a core principle. Ledman’s technological innovation aligns perfectly with this vision. The mega screen, built upon the company’s “Icescreen” series, integrates advanced COB packaging technology and features three proprietary core technologies: AI-powered low-energy intelligent display, ultra-high precision voltage control, and bottom-black lossless direct display. It achieves exceptional visual performance while reducing power consumption by up to 50% compared to traditional displays, significantly minimizing heat generation. This advancement not only ensures high-quality broadcast production but also actively supports the sustainability goals of a major international sporting event, contributing Chinese technological expertise to a “Green Olympics.”

The installation marks the official transition of CCTV’s broadcast operations for the 2026 Milan-Cortina Games from the preparation phase to active implementation. Following the Olympic opening ceremony on February 6, 2026, this cutting-edge display, a product of Chinese innovation, will work in tandem with the “China Red” broadcast system. Together, they are set to deliver a world-class visual experience to a global audience, showcasing the formidable capabilities of China’s ultra-high-definition display industry on the Olympic stage.
