On May 12, 2017,a national standard ,about test method accelerating for the luminous flux decay of GB / T 33720-2017 LED lighting products (hereinafter referred to as "The National Standard" ), was issued by The People's Republic of China State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and the China National Standardization Management Committee.

The National Standard is led by The National Key Laboratory of Joint Innovation in Semiconductor Lighting, Shenzhen LEDMAN Optoelectronics co., ltd, and other LED-related enterprises, institutions participating in the preparation. There are many disadvantages for the test method. The traditional reliability testing method for LED lighting products needed a long time and high cost, which slowed the marketing speed of new product seriously, and at least 6000h test for the product or its optical module is needed to those whose luminous flux attenuation estimated life is 25000h. The National Standard is designed to develop a test method to measure the luminous flux decay of LED lighting more fast, which will shorten the test time of 6000h to 2000h without affecting the accuracy of reliability evaluation.
